Understand Your Health. Beyond the Symptoms.
You know your body better than anyone.
Functional medicine takes a deeper, more personalized look at your health by considering your symptoms, history, lifestyle, nutrition, environment, and the way different systems of the body work together.
Rather than simply asking “What are you experiencing?”, we also ask “Why?”
Through detailed health assessments, advanced laboratory testing, nutrition, lifestyle strategies, and individualized recommendations, Dr. Fehmel works with you to better understand your health and create a plan designed around your unique needs.
Don't Just Ask What. Ask Why.
You can feel like something isn't right even when you don't have a clear diagnosis.
Functional medicine takes a comprehensive approach to understanding the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms and overall health.
Instead of applying the same protocol to every patient, Dr. Fehmel uses your history, health data, laboratory testing, and individual goals to help build a more complete picture.
The goal isn't to chase symptoms. It's to understand the bigger picture.

Your Health Data Can Tell a Bigger Story.
When additional information is needed, advanced laboratory testing can help provide a deeper look into how your body is functioning.
Depending on your individual needs, testing may include:
-
Understanding your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, nutrition, and health goals.
-
When appropriate, specialized testing can provide additional insight into areas such as nutrient status, gastrointestinal health, hormones, thyroid function, food sensitivities, and other markers.
-
Personalized recommendations designed to fit your body and your actual life.
-
When appropriate, professional-grade supplements may be recommended based on your individual needs.
-
Your plan can evolve as your health changes and new information becomes available.
-
Including expanded panels that may provide additional insight into areas such as thyroid and metabolic health.
-
Looking more closely at vitamins, minerals, and other nutritional markers.
-
Evaluating digestive health and markers related to the gastrointestinal system.
-
Assessing hormone patterns using specialized testing when appropriate.
-
Additional testing may be recommended based on your history and individual concerns.
Information Is Only Useful When You Know What to Do With It.
Testing is just one part of the process.
Once your history, symptoms, goals, and available health data have been reviewed, Dr. Fehmel creates individualized recommendations that may include nutrition, lifestyle, dietary changes, supplementation, and other supportive strategies.
Your plan is designed to be understandable, actionable, and personalized to you.

Our Process
Thoughtful Care From the Very First Visit
Great chiropractic care starts with understanding you. We take the time to listen, assess, and create a clear picture of what your body needs before developing your personalized approach to care.
-
Before your first appointment, you'll complete a detailed health questionnaire and provide relevant medical records and recent laboratory results.
-
Dr. Fehmel reviews your history, symptoms, health data, and goals to develop a more complete picture of your health.
-
When appropriate, additional laboratory testing may be recommended to gather more information and guide your personalized plan. Testing recommendations and associated costs are discussed before ordering.
-
Your recommendations may include nutrition, lifestyle, dietary strategies, and targeted supplementation based on your individual needs.
-
Follow-up visits allow Dr. Fehmel to review your progress, make adjustments, and evolve your plan as your needs change. Her current model typically schedules follow-ups every 2 to 30 days during the first three months, then reassesses frequency.
Meet Dr. Michelle Fehmel
Experienced Care. Personal Connection. A Long-Term Perspective.
Dr. Michelle Fehmel’s passion for chiropractic began early in life. As a child, she experienced recurring bronchitis and pneumonia until her mother brought her to a chiropractor. Experiencing the benefits of chiropractic care firsthand sparked a lasting interest in the body’s ability to heal, adapt, and function at its best.
Dr. Michelle earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston College before graduating cum laude from New York Chiropractic College with her Doctorate of Chiropractic. Since then, she has cared for thousands of patients across every stage of life, from infants and families to athletes and older adults.
Her commitment to continued education has led her to pursue advanced training in spinal correction, rehabilitative care, soft tissue techniques, nutrition, and functional medicine. She brings that experience together to provide thoughtful, individualized care based on each patient's unique needs and goals.
Her philosophy is simple: understand the whole person, create a personalized approach, and help each patient build a healthier foundation for the long term.
